High infrared radiation heating utilizes a high-energy, high-density, full-spectrum radiation heating technology. Unlike traditional heating methods such as convection heating, infrared radiation penetrates the solvents and resin matrix molecules in the coating, directly heating the molecules. This allows most reactant molecules to gain sufficient energy in a very short time, turning into activated molecules, thereby completing the curing reaction in a short period. This results in faster heating rates, reduced energy consumption, and improved coating quality. High infrared heating technology can shorten the curing time of conventional powder coatings from the original 15-20 minutes to 30-120 seconds.

 

 

In the process of curing coil coatings, quartz infrared heating lamps are used at various stages, including preheating, drying, and curing. During the preheating stage, infrared radiation heating lamps rapidly raise the temperature of the aluminum substrate to a level suitable for coating application. In the drying stage, intense infrared radiation evaporates any solvents or moisture present in the coating, ensuring a smooth and uniform surface, enhancing the flow properties of the powder coating, and improving the coating’s gloss, smoothness, and wetting of the substrate.

 

Finally, during the curing stage, high infrared heating modules can quickly raise the coating temperature to the curing temperature. This reduces the time spent in the temperature range where the molten viscosity is high before curing, and the continuous high radiative heat rapidly activates the curing agent within the coating, promoting chemical cross-linking and enhancing the durability and adhesion of the coating.

 

The high infrared radiation heating module has the following special advantages: Firstly, the heating module’s targeted heating of specific areas reduces heat loss to the surrounding environment, improving energy efficiency. Secondly, the uniform arrangement of heating lamps within the module ensures even distribution of radiant heat over the coating, enhancing the consistency of coating quality and reducing the risk of defects such as bubbling or uneven drying. Moreover, the rapid heating achieved by infrared radiation shortens the processing time and increases productivity.
