With the development of science and technology, coatings are widely used in various production industries. Whether it is water-based coatings, solvent-based coatings or powder coatings, they all need to be cured and dried. The traditional electric heating tube or ceramic heating tube has low electrothermal conversion efficiency, the heat source is exposed in the air and easily oxidized, the infrared radiation decays rapidly, and the energy consumption is getting higher and higher. Therefore, the quartz infrared heating technology with higher electrothermal conversion efficiency has gradually been widely used in various spraying processes, such as wood board paint drying, metal paint drying, plastic film substrate drying, leather coating drying, glass power coating drying and etc.

The quartz infrared heating system consists of a quartz infrared heater lamp, a reflector, and a temperature control device. It generates 2.2-4 μ m medium wave infrared radiation through resistance wire heating. This band highly matches the characteristic absorption wavelength (3-4.5 μ m) of powder coating polymer materials, which can induce molecular resonance effects and achieve deep penetration heating. Compared to the traditional heat conduction method of hot air convection, infrared radiation can directly apply more than 85% of the energy to the interior of the coating, increasing the thermal efficiency by 3-5 times compared to the traditional method.

Our infrared quartz lamp is encapsulated in a transparent quartz glass tube. The heating element is not affected by external air or airflow, and the infrared radiation rays are stable and highly transmission and can penetrate deep into the object. During the drying process, due to the matched infrared wavelength, the moisture and solvent in the paint evaporate quickly, and the paint layer on the surface of the object does not produce bubbles or small holes, so our IR heat lamp can effectively improve the surface quality of the paint and increase the adhesion of the paint film. Higher strength, brighter brightness and better toughness.

Infrared heating Lamps offer the following advantages:
- Strong Penetrating Power: Quartz infrared heating lamps emit infrared radiation that penetrates coatings, causing water molecules to vibrate and evaporate rapidly. This fast-drying process is particularly effective for electrostatic powder coatings. - Direct Heat Transfer: Quartz infrared heating requires no intermediary medium for heat transfer. The radiation energy is directly absorbed by the heated object, converting a significant portion of electrical energy into heat. Compared to other heating methods, this leads to higher heating efficiency, minimizing energy waste, reducing operational costs, and lowering carbon emissions.
- Versatility: Another major benefit of using quartz infrared heating lamps in the drying process of electrostatic powder coatings is their versatility. These lamps can be flexibly installed and positioned to focus infrared energy on effective heating areas. Integrated quartz infrared heaters can provide both overall and localized heating, saving energy. Additionally, they can easily adjust the energy output to accommodate different coating thicknesses and materials, ensuring that the drying process remains efficient regardless of the specific requirements of the applied coating.
- Precise Temperature Control: Infrared heating offers precise temperature control, with infrared temperature sensors working in conjunction with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) controllers to adjust heating temperatures in real-time. This system includes over-temperature alarms and automatic shutoff features, offering greater safety compared to gas heating.
