Affecting Factors of Working Life For Infrared Heating Lamps
As the infrared heating lamp works in a very high temperature, it will inevitably cause the aging of the material. Such as tungsten or Fe-Cr alloy heating filaments which are inside of quartz tube, although they are strong with high temperature heat resistance, the filaments will not melt in high temperature, but they will slowly sublimate at high temperature, resulting in the filament becoming thinner and the stability will also deteriorate, resulting in damage due to aging. Halogen-filled heating lamps can allow some of the sublimated metal atoms to return to the filament, which can delay the aging process, but still cannot make the heating lamps last forever.

The working life of the infrared heating lamp is also related to its heating power. For example, a heating IR lamp with a power of less than 6 kW can be used about 5,000 hours, and if the power is designed more than 10 kW, the working life is about 4,000 hours. Of course, the working life is also related to vacuuming quality and the actual working environment. If the lamp is good quality with high power and the working environment is not so harsh, high powerful IR heating lamps also can be used over 5000 hours to one year.
