At the same time, due to the temperature gradient inside the leather, the movement of moisture is always from the wetter interior toward the drier exterior. The moisture diffusion inside the leather, along with the heat diffusion, accelerates the moisture movement, thus increasing drying efficiency. For the same leather, using infrared radiation for drying can significantly shorten drying times.
Applications in the Food Industry
Infrared heating technology has been widely used in food processing, particularly in baking, drying, and sterilization processes. Traditional drying methods often take longer and result in uneven heating, while infrared heating can quickly penetrate the surface of the food, causing the interior to heat up rapidly as well. For example, in garment manufacturing, using infrared heating to dry and set fabrics improves production efficiency and ensures the final product’s quality and appearance.
