High temperature on sealed part will shorten infrared lamp life

High temperature on sealed part will shorten infrared lamp life

(Summary description)Firstly let us know the types of quartz infrared lamps. The end of quartz needs to be seald and this kind of infrared quartz lamp is vacuum sealing. The sealing infrared lamp have a fast response time within 1-2 seconds, and the radiation energy is stable with more than 5000 hours working life, but we should keep the temperature on sealed part as lower as we can, especially for oven drying.

Higher temperature over 350℃ on sealed part will damage the lamps. The lamps will be broken slowly or quickly due to different oxidation levels of sealing part. The graph shows the relationship between sealing temperature and infrared lamp life. Higher temperature on sealed part, lower working life of IR lamps. Lower temperature on sealed part, longer working life of IR quartz sealed lamps.

As you can see from our lamp photo, a molybdenum foil is sealed inside of quartz and there is molybdenum rod connects the molybdenum foil and outside cables. The foil is not completely air insulation, there is a very small gap between the quartz seal and the outer cables. Through this gap, very small quantities of air can be introduced into the seal part. Molybdenum foil can easily oxidizes when temperatures rise above 350 degrees C.

Through this gap, very small quantities of air can be introduced into the seal part. Molybdenum foil can easily oxidizes when temperatures rise above 350 degrees C. And when more and more air enter inside of quartz, the whole of lamp will be oxidated like the following bad lamps from our customers who bought from other suppliers.

Our opinion: If you are sure the temperature on sealed part is not over 350℃, then the above broken lamps (from other suppliers) are not in good quality by sealing.
