IR Heating Applications
Share Knowledges Infrared Radiation Heating in Coating Curing
Design and application of infrared radiation heating technology in coating curing Coating curing technology generally uses hot air circulation heating. The air circulation heating have uniform temperature in the furnace and the work adaptability is strong. But the disadvantages are high energy consumption, slow heating for thick curing workpieces, and the equipment occupies a large area. In order to overcome the shortcomings, infrared radiation heating technology heats the workpieces from the inside to the outside, solving problems such as high energy consumption and slow heating rate. Although the infrared radiation heating has the advantages of high heat exchange efficiency, fast response and short drying time and good coating curing quality, it also has shortcomings such as uneven temperature field in the curing box and shadows on workpieces with complex shapes, which ultimately affects the coating and dry quality. In order to overcome the above-mentioned shortcomings caused by simply using infrared drying, a cold air circulation system and a hot exhaust air system are set up in the high-temperature area together with infrared drying. The air volume and wind speed of both are adjustable. When designing, attention should be paid to the exhaust system. The air volume should be slightly larger than the air volume of cold air sent into the system. After production and operation of the equipment, it has been proved that the effect is very good. This is because the cold air sent to the oven drives the hot air circulation in the curing box, which can not only transfer heat evenly to all parts of the complex-shaped workpiece, but also overcomes the inevitable shortcomings of shadows caused by radiation heat transfer. It can also blow away the air film layer adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece, thereby accelerating the external diffusion rate of the workpiece, causing the solvent and water vapor to quickly discharge from the drying chamber, and reducing the relative humidity and solvent concentration in the box. The effect of infrared radiation heating technology in paint film curing In order to test the design and use effect, after the project installation and debugging was completed, the temperature rise of the entire curing box was tested using a six-point furnace temperature tracker and temperature measurement software. During the heating stage, the heating speed of each part of the workpiece is inconsistent. The closer to the upper part, the faster the heating speed, and the overall heating time is longer. After installing an infrared radiation heater at the inlet, the workpiece heats up faster and the heating time is greatly shortened; the temperature curves of each part of the workpiece have a high degree of overlap, the curve rises steadily during the heating stage, and the curve fluctuates very little during the heat preservation stage. It is not difficult to see that after being heated by the infrared radiation heating system, the temperature curves of various parts of the workpiece almost overlap, indicating that the synchronization of temperature rise on the surface of the workpiece has been greatly improved, the workpiece is heated more evenly, the paint film solidification effect is better, the heating time is greatly shortened, and after heating After this stage, the temperature in the entire curing box remains more stable with very small fluctuations. Conclusion 1) In the paint film curing box, the infrared heating system is suitable to be arranged in the entrance heating section. Infrared radiation drying technology is used in the heating stage, and forced convection drying technology is still used in the second half. The combination of the two technologies makes the design more optimized and reasonable. 2) The infrared heating components should be reasonably partitioned and grouped according to the design conditions, and the temperature control elements should be scientifically arranged. This is conducive to the temperature control and debugging of radiation drying, making the temperature rise more stable. 3) The optimized design of the infrared heating system structure enables three-dimensional adjustment of the relative position to the workpiece in a limited space. 4) The infrared heating area is equipped with a forced hot air circulation system, which is beneficial to the uniform heating of the workpiece and improves the curing effect of the paint film.

Infrared heating technology in tea drying process
Infrared heating technology in tea withering After a series of studies, it was found that the application of infrared heating technology in tea withering can improve the quality of tea. After a series of experimental studies, the best relevant parameters for tea processing are as follows: the power of the microwave oven is determined at 10kw, the amount of leaves is 0.5kg per minute, and the infrared setting is 6kw. When curing tea leaves, first use a microwave oven to irradiate them for 1.5 minutes, and then use the same practice of infrared radiation. In the use of this processing technology, the quality of the tea produced is higher than that of ordinary tea, and the cost of the process is relatively low, which is more in line with people's actual needs. And the application of this technology in tea withering mainly uses advanced microwave-infrared mechanical equipment and infrared electric heating continuous withering equipment, which can make ideal tea even on rainy days. For example, when withering oolong tea, the withering temperature is mainly adjusted to about 40 degrees Celsius, and infrared radiation with an intensity of 1kW is used to heat and wither the tea leaves. Other processing steps are carried out according to normal procedures. The oolong tea made in this way can bring people a better olfactory experience, with a very rich and mellow aroma, and has a higher quality than oolong tea processed in conventional ways. Mainly because, the heat generated by infrared heating is used to process the mesophyll tissue in the tea leaves in the form of infrared radiation rays, causing it to generate a certain amount of heat energy and improve the uniformity of the tea leaves' heating. The use of infrared heating technology in the tea baking process is high efficient, short drying time, which helps to save various costs. Compared with the traditional hot air drying method, infrared heating can effectively retain the aroma of tea leaves. Compared with microwave heating and drying technology, infrared heating not only enables the tea leaves to be heated evenly during processing, but also avoids the loss of water in the tea leaves, effectively retains the natural aroma of the tea leaves, and improves the production of tea leaves. Infrared heating technology is more in line with people's needs in heating and baking tea, which can save people more costs in the processing and manufacturing of tea.

Electric Industry Infrared Heaters For Wood Drying
We know that wet wood contains a lot of water, and wood products processed from wet wood are prone to deformation and cracking during use, so the wood needs to be dried. Although there are many methods for drying wood, due to the particularity of wood drying, drying wood is often placed in stacks in the furnace, so it is generally difficult to heat evenly and penetrate deep into the pile. Fires may sometimes occur due to excessive local temperatures. The drying method uses infrared radiation heating as the main method and forced convection as the supplement. As long as the drying process is strictly controlled, the dried wood will not crack or warp, the quality is stable and uniform, and the cost is low, the cycle is short, and energy is saved. The drying process and its control over the drying effect of wood are also closely related to the stacking of timber stacks. The quality of stacking directly affects the drying quality and time, so stacking is a very important link. The loading of timber stacks , bottom, left and right should have good air permeability, especially the upper and lower should have smooth ventilation holes to ensure that the interior of the wood is heated evenly and the water vapor on the surface of the wood is drained away in time. The drying process is divided into several stages: heating, constant temperature and cooling. Since the drying object is oak wood, which is a hard and difficult-to-dry wood that is easily deformed and cracked, the temperature is raised slowly in a stepped manner. The heating steps are controlled at 50°C, 70°C, 80°C, and 90°C respectively. The maximum temperature rise must be controlled. At a constant temperature of 90°C, in order to ensure that all parts are radiated evenly, it is best to use manual control and automatic control alternately. When cooling down, stop the machine, open the exhaust hole, and cool down naturally. Compared with steam drying, infrared drying has the advantages of less investment, short production cycle, high heat utilization rate, good drying quality, and low cost. It can achieve goals of high efficiency and speed, energy saving and stable wood quality. It is believed that in the future development, infrared heating technology will play a greater role in the field of wood drying. Medium wave quartz infrared heater lamp are particularly suitable for the fast heating of surface or thin materials, and the range of IR radiation wave is 2.2-4.0μm. Plastic, water and other solvents absorb well this medium wave radiation. Because of its long working life and economical efficiency, medium wave infrared quartz heater lamps are popular used in continuous heating processes and long heating machine or drying oven. Twin tube medium wave IR lamp is made of quartz twin tube with sizes of 23×11mm or 33×15mm. The heating filament is Ni-Cr or Fe-Cr alloy material. The total length of twin tube medium wave IR heater can be up to 6 meter. In order to better convey and focus on the heated material all the IR radiation emitted from the IR lamp, the special gold reflector or white reflector will be coated and fixed directly on the quartz surface. The response time of medium wave infrared quartz emtter is 1-4minutes, the emitters can provide constant and uniform infrared heating when they run stably. Application of Infrared Heating in Textile Drying Industry
The application of quartz infrared (QIR) technology in the textile drying industry has revolutionized the way fabrics are handled and processed. Quartz-infrared radiation technology, with its unique heating properties, has been shown to be beneficial in improving the quality and functionality of textiles drying. Quartz-infrared heating technology can be used in the bleaching, dyeing, sizing and shaping of various cotton, wool, silk and chemical fiber fabrics. The prebaking, shaping, hot-melting, and heating of baking equipment for synthetic fiber blended fabrics generally use convection, conduction, etc. methods. Among them, the thermal efficiency of hot air convection heating is only about 30%. The new technology of quartz-infrared radiation has the advantages of fast heating speed, low energy loss, good product quality and small equipment footprint. Therefore, in recent years, quartz-infrared heating have been gradually promoted and used in the printing and dyeing industry. When quartz-infrared heating reach an object, the following three situations will occur: part is reflected on the surface of the object, part is absorbed by the object, and the rest is transmitted through the object. The absorbed infrared radiation energy is converted into heat, causing the object to heat up. The greater the energy absorbed, the higher the temperature of the object rises. When applying quartz-infrared heating, we hope that the reflection and transmittance of the heated object are smaller and the absorptivity is larger. For this reason, the wavelength of infrared radiation is required to match the absorption wave of the heated object. Inorganic substances such as water, water vapor and glass, as well as most organic substances and polymer substances, can absorb infrared heating, and can strongly absorb quartz-infrared heating. The dry heat treatment of synthetic fiber fabrics and the pre-drying of dyeing use this characteristic to reduce energy consumption and improved quality. The setting of synthetic fiber fabrics requires the time required for the cloth surface to be heated to the setting temperature after the fabric enters the setting machine, and then further penetrates into the fabric to reach between the fiber molecules, and is adjusted according to the setting conditions. quartz-infrared radiation can radiate directly to the heated fabric and has two characteristics: transmission and absorption. After absorbing quartz-infrared energy of a certain wavelength, the molecules and atoms of the heated fabric vibrate and rotate intensified, increasing the energy of movement, causing the fabric to absorb heat and heat itself. It is much faster than convection heating and is used for hot melting of disperse dyes. Dyeing can shorten the hot melting time or lower the hot melting temperature. Similarly, the use of quartz-infrared resin baking with the help of a catalyst can complete the cross-linking reaction between the resin and the fiber in a short time. In summary, quartz-infrared technology has become a game-changer for the textile industry. Its application in dyeing and finishing, functional textiles, smart textiles and other fields has brought significant improvements in efficiency, quality and functionality.

Application of Infrared Drying in Paper Industry
Gas burners or quartz infrared heaters have a certain history of development in the drying of paper machines and coating machines. Infrared radiation is invisible light, and heat is transmitted through electromagnetic wave radiation heating without direct contact to the heated object. The infrared peak wavelength of gas burner is about 3-4 microns, which has a good drying efficiency on the surface of the paper board. The quartz infrared heater has a smaller peak wavelength, about 1-2 microns, and has a strong penetration effect, which has a good drying effect on the inside of the paper board. The radiation energy utilization rate of quartz infrared heating is as high as 80%, while the infrared thermal energy utilization rate of gas burners is only 50%. At the same time, it is accompanied by the emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. 1. The application of infrared drying on tissue paper machines can improve the lateral moisture unevenness of the paper web, reduce the fluctuation by half, and increase the output by 5-10%. Infrared radiation energy(E) is proportional to the fourth power of absolute temperature(E=XT4). Therefore, the higher the temperature of the heating element, the stronger the infrared radiation energy. Generally, the temperature of plate heaters is only 550℃, the infrared temperature of gas burners is about 1100℃, and the infrared temperature of the tungsten alloy heating wire of quartz infrared heaters can reach about 2200℃. The maximum infrared radiation energy density of quartz infrared heaters can reach 360kW/m2. As long as there is no fire risk, the heater can be allowed to be 6cm away from the paper surface without risk of fire. If a head breakage occurs, the infrared heater needs to be shut down immediately within 1 second and cooled down. Air cooling or water cooling can be used. No flammable materials are allowed near the IR heaters, and operators must check frequently. The absorption efficiency of IR energy depends on the quantity of paper and its surface reflection. Low weight paper requires a reflector. Firstly, the IR energy reflected from the paper is returned to the paper through the reflector, and secondly, the IR that penetrates the paper is also returned to the paper through the reflector. Research has shown that using an infrared heater before paper pressing increases the temperature of the wet paper sheet and reduces the viscosity of the water, thereby allowing for more dehydration in the pressing section; Or increase the speed to increase production, with an average increase of 10℃ in the wet paper temperature, the dryness of the wet paper can be increased by 1%. Through experiments, the installation of IR can increase production by an average of 7%, and the average power consumption is much less than that of steam drying. After using quartz IR heaters, in addition to increasing production, it can also reduce paper roll damage, improve the horizontal moisture uniformity of the paper web, and improve the calendering efficiency. 2. Quartz infrared heater for coating machine The quartz infrared heater installed behind the scraper allows the coating agent to dry quickly, avoiding migration caused by the absorption of water and adhesive in the coating agent by the original paper, and improving printing quality. During the coating process, as soon as the coating agent comes into contact with the original paper, the adhesive begins to migrate. The moisture in the coating agent moistens the fibers of the original paper, and the adhesive begins to flow into the original paper. Under the pressure of the scraper, the coating agent is forced into the base paper, causing it to firmly bond with the base paper, and the migration of the adhesive begins to become a capillary process. The longer the residence time of the coated paper before infrared drying, the more liquid and adhesive migrate from the coating agent to the original paper. The unevenness of the original paper surface affects the micro thickness of the coating layer, causing changes in the flow of the adhesive, resulting in local uneven concentration on the coating surface. When the drying process reaches the gel point, the flow of the adhesive/water slows down, and the relationship between the adhesive/solid is fixed, which may lead to the speckle phenomenon and affect the printing quality. The longer the time before curing of the coating agent, the more uneven the micro-morphology of the paper surface. Immediately fixing the coating agent through infrared drying after the scraper is removed will improve the coating quality and prevent spots. The rapid heating of the quartz infrared heater can help complete the above tasks. The short-wave infrared radiation heater has a high amount of radiation. The wavelength when the IR emits the highest energy is proportional to the fourth power of the absolute tem
